Subject: My responsibility as a sahajayogini
To: <dcsycouncil@dcsahajayoga.org>
Dear All,
Jai Shri Mataji!
I know you all have been working hard for SY spreading and I support and have great respect for DC council. I don’t have that much knowledge as you all have about sahaj but based on my little experience I want to say few things. While giving bhandhans for our last PP, I felt, mooladhara and heart catch. May be it just me?
As I am part of DC collective, I want to ask DC council few questions and give some suggestions.
Why do we need to follow the new procedure of spreading sahaj strictly? Or should we follow Shri Mataji, as we have been following in the past and all over the world. Why should we change the name of sahaja yoga?
When we have everything established methods and procedure told by Shri Mataji (that we have used in the past) Why should we waste our time and energy and resources in trying new methods?
If US seekers can’t accept Shri Mataji’s picture then how Shri Mataji did PP in the past? Seekers will accept, as Shri Mataji is Adi Shakti. Almost all of the public program talks of Shri Mataji, some are in US, She has talked about sahaja yoga what is the meaning of the word sahaja yoga, then why should we change the name?
Who are we to change the roots? Shri Mataji has founded this and only she has to change, if it was needed She would have done that long back.
if the ‘Yoga” name is misleading and if we are getting other people who are coming with the mats that is good if they are seekers they will also get their self-realization and they will be aware of sahajayoga and might come back in the future, in my experience there is no loss or harm in it.
I don’t know many aspects or many things that are going in US national council only one thing I know that is we need to follow Her and not anyone else and not any other procedure because we want to please Her.
In my experience if we use Shri Mataji's pictures we will have good vibrations and we can get good seekers or at least we can spread vibration through her posters
Following info is from Shri Devi puja talk, San Diego talk 1985, 31st may. She said -
They used of picture of mine taken by a yogini, it had horrible vibration they used that in PP and all boots came to program. Sahajayoga cannot compromise we have to accept its way we cannot change Sahajayoga. Don’t try new thing in Sahajayoga is built in traditionally.
If the picture of Shri Mataji taken by not good yogi has horrible vibrations then how we can think that using a child picture or any other picture bring seekers or good seekers?
If we use the same new technique and strategy but with Shri Mataji picture and sahajayoga name then, Shri. Ganesha will be pleased and all deities will be pleased. If sahaja yoga name and and picture of Shri Mataji on poster or banners is working in whole world and in the past in USA then why not now? Or at least in our DC collective, which is the capital of the USA
Only thing we lack in the past was the co-ordination like now we have, if we use same co-ordination and team effort and if we follow the procedure of playing Shri Mataji public program video or audio, then we can do wonders.
Current strategy is more for business purpose not for sahaj and it is more mental not spiritual. This is the last judgment time everyone will be judged. Coming two years will be very tough for all us if don’t go deep in our meditation. We have to work hard as Shri Mataji’s has been doing.
Thanks for reading.
Haritha Salunkhe.

I feel there are lots of misunderstandings about the new approach and also about what Shri Mataji wants from us in these times and here in America. Below some points of my understanding:
1) Sahaja Meditation is not Sahaja Yoga. Sahaja Meditation is to prepare the general American public for Sahaja Yoga and Shri Mataji by following Her advice of: "Let them recognize themselves first, then they will recognize me."
2) Words are not that important. When we teach Sahaja Yoga in other languages, like Russian or German, we are also translating Her talks and terms. In this case, we are "translating" some of the Indian and Sanskrit terms to make them easier to understand. The use of "Sahaja Meditation" as public outreach in America has been approved personally by Shri Mataji Herself.
3) The current public program approach also follows very closely Her advice from Guru Puja 2008. Please listen to Her talk. She clearly says: "You should have my picture there but realization should come from you". We do have Her photograph there, and we refer to Her as our teacher. Her photograph is also prominently placed on the chart. The photograph we use has been recommended by Shri Mataji for America.
4) We do not strictly follow the Sahaja Meditation guidelines. For example, we are using "Mother" to address the Kundalini energy, and today Matthew used the long Realization process for the meditation.
5) Regarding the vibrations: I also felt a strong heart catch today, which quite nicely cleared towards the end of the program. We also decided to make the "heart center" the topic for the next program. The location: "The Jewish Community Center" is certainly a vibrationally difficult place but we are doing our work by helping to improve the vibrations.
We are still trying to find the right balance but I feel we have to give all Americans a chance. It will be our love and compassion that will help us on this way.
Love, Walter
